xxDYNAMIC CHANGE MODEL

The role of a Change Coach is to make sense of the disparate dimensions of life, so as to map the interactions that will enable the client to make sense of things. This makes it easier for them to self-initiate and self-correct any unwanted behaviour.

This basic model of change recognises that all human change is complex and dynamic, simply because of the tensions that exist between the energy generated from the inside and outside - top and bottom. The authority that guides us, which could be our boss, guru, or our consciense, exerts a strong top-down influence over our choices. This energy rubs up against the needs of the group, team or community - forcing change from the bottom-up. From the inside comes our energy to be the person we want to be in the world, which is contrained by the demands placed upon us by our clients and other stakeholders in our environment. These are the people we need to care about, our customers, family or service partners.

Outside-In - Environment
This dimension is physically observable from which we are dissociated. As a result we may see ourselves in a context with other people who we exist to serve, such as our families, customers and club members. Their concerns drive our systems and processes.

Inside-Out - Capability
This dimension is accessed from previous experience and relived as if you were there, associated and experiencing the sights, sounds and feelings in the very moment and trying to give them meaning.

Bottom-Up - Culture
This dimension is about close relationships and interactions where principles, values and mental models are shared. There is a meeting of minds.

Top-Down - Vision
This dimensions seeks to integrate the inside and outside, individual and collective perspectives on one's life. This is where we find regulatory systems and processes, with written rules of engagement.
