xxThe Three Principles

xxCONNECTING THOUGHT, CONSCIOUSNESS & MIND

The three Principles are drawn from the thinking of Sydney Banks. He shows how universal thought, consciousness and mind have the potential to change lives and enable people to find the happiness they seek. His work has been developed by Roger Mills and Elsie Spittle as a vehicle for healing.

THE THREE PRINCIPLES

MIND
The energy of all creation and intelligence in all things - both formless and in form
THOUGHT
The capacity to create form from formless energy. Learning to choose wisely holds the key to a happy life
CONSCIOUSNESS
The awareness of what it means to be alive, and knowing the consequences of giving life to our thoughts

The simplicity of these three principles allows us to understand how the mind works and thus how people create their lives and the potential for improving the wellbeing of humanity. These Principles have been profoundly helpful to me in making sense of many diverse theories and experiences about change.

Thought creates reality
The idea that our problems are linked to our thoughts is still new to many fields of psychology and philosophy. But there is little doubt that mind, combined with the power of thought and consciousness allow us to make sense of our experience as we journey through life. Sydney Banks' insights of the way mind, consciousness and thought combine means we can all direct our thoughts to experience a more loving, compassionate, insightful and happy existence, full of natural wisdom.

It is when we give life to our thoughts that we take action. Thoughts can only hurt ourselves, but as soon as we vern=balise them or take action on them do the consequences of our thoughts materialise in space and time.

If you can see it you can do it
It may sound mystical but is infact it is backed by discoveries in the New Sciences. It does not require intellectual rigour to access the benefits that an understanding of the three Principles can bring. Indeed, it is simply about helping people find ways of being at peace and allowing their inside-out energy to flow, observing the insights that this mental state brings them. There is a state of mind or level of consciousness that enables people to forgive themselves (see the
EFT Procedure) and literally forget the problems of yesterday and count their blessings. When discovered, the changes happen in an instant without any analysis of the past, the thinking is intuitive and solution focused.

A new way of seeing
The Principles offer an overarching logic that unfailingly accounts for all human experience, without exception. Thinking this way provides assurance and hope to those of us who want to help people address their fundamental human concerns. The Principles help to explain many phenomena, such as why some people get over things and change their lives, while others seem stuck in cycles of stress and fear.

Change from the 'inside-out'
No longer is is plausible to look to multiple "outside-in" forces to understand experience; the Principles turn cause and effect "inside-out". As a result attention shifts away from the content of thinking and its outcomes to focussing on the process of creating thoughts and experience - the very act of creating reality from the inside-out.

We give form to the thoughts that emerge from moment-to-moment formless possibilities by giving them form through our consciousness. This so called reality is a fleeting, ephemeral product of our mind at work. If you think a green lizard is walking across the floor, you will"see" a green lizard. If you think about making great shots playing tennis, you will hit great shots playing tennis - although it might take a bit of practice to get "into the flow".

A simple explanation of the Principles
This is a plain language description of the principles at work by Judith Sedgeman.

"When any thought is created within your mind, it is manifested as real through your senses at the moment it enters. Whatever enters your mind is your world at that moment. If a person's mind is seething with thougts of vengence, they will experience a hostile, dangerous reality. If a person entertains ideas of self-doubt and inadequacy, they will feel self-conscious and inadequate. The feeling comes from the senses that are informed by the thoughts that are created and made conscious in the mind, moment-by-moment."

Change is only one thought away
When a new thought comes to mind, your life changes - at that moment. If you are feeling disappointed and think how others have worked hard to help you, you will feel warmth and goodwill - at that moment. A continual flow of new thoughts can alter the reality you experience. Positive thoughts create positive language, pictures and emotions. Try it for yourself. Think of something that is a problem for you and repeat the following phrase three times and note any new thoughts it generates. Put the new thought into the phrase and say it three times and carry on to see where the thoughts take you.

"Even though I . . . . . . . I love and accept myself"

With each change of thought, there is a corresponding change in the experience of reality of the thinker of the thought. When you see the link for yourself between thought and experience you gain a new perspective on how you create your own reality.

If you get lost on the circle of life you need to Find your way back to a balanced life. This best seen in the Taijitu symbol. As you go round the circle you can get lost in the fear and sadness of the darkside of life. We must allow allow love and compassion to shine through and give our lives balance and happiness.

All experiences are neutral. It's the thoughts they generate that gives them meaning and the resulting impact on your life. Fear then becomes a thought-event rather than a horrible life circumstance. By "seeing" experiences as neutral people can make peace with the past and find a new pathway to go forward as an internal experience.

EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE
POSITIVE THOUGHT
POSITIVE
EXPERIENCE

If you want a good and happy life act on the positive thoughts and ignore the negative one's.The more you connect with the wisdom thats deep inside your (the divine mind or your God) the more loving, compassionate and intuitive thoughts you will generate and a happier life will ensue. Change takes place from the inside-out, it cannot be imposed from the outside-in. Personal thought is a gift. When combined with free will, life can be anything you can imagine.

To forgive is to forget
To forget is to forgive

Reality is not "out there"
You choose whether to bring positive or negative thoughts to mind when interpreting an experience. The only force for change comes from the inside-out - the power of your own wisdom and creativity. Understanding this causes outside-in forces or influences to dissolve. It is only our conscious and unconscious thoughts that make them real.

REALITY = THOUGHT + CONSCIOUSNESS

For example, a devastating event is a thought-event and will pass as new thoughts take its place. As we know, time is a great healer. The potential to think different thoughts is always there as infinite potential for change. Problems are not imposed upon us, we "see" them as problems and give them reality as a problem with all the emotions and consequences our thoughts associate with it. Better then to focus the mind on possible solutions and create thoughts that will deliver the solution - not to analyse the problem. (See the Solutions Focus).

The Power of the Principles
The Principles awaken understanding within people because they are profound and moving. They are also easy to grasp at a common sense level. The fundamental truth that lies with the three Principles speaks directly to peoples hearts as well as their heads.
