The
challenge for all of us is to be the master or mistress
of our own minds. Thoughts and feelings can be toxic
unless we learn to make choices based on what we really
want for our authentic selves, not what our personality
dictates to us.
The
mind often rushes off in many different directions creating
worry and stress. It is out of control, determining
what you think. But you can choose not to listen to
the chatter in your head.
The
Mind Star below illustrates the different ways in which
your mind can take control to deliver what it thinks
you want. It uses intuition, imagination, emotions,
sensations, thoughts and desires. Your mind works to
keep you in your comfort zone. The challenge is to change
your mental states. To do this you need to not just
know your own mind, but to control it by the power of
your will.

This
is a useful tool to use to help you understand that
you are not your thoughts and feelings. You have a spiritual
centre from which you can orchestrate and direct your
states of mind.
