LIVING YOUR VALUES

Living your life with integrity means that your words match your actions. When living life in harmony with your values you naturally have more energy.

It's important therefore, to clarify what really matters to you. Knowing what you stand for will set you free to live your life to the full.

If you don't know who you are, you can't be true to yourself.

This may seem obvious, but few of us take the time to identify what truly matters to us. It makes decisions easier when your choices support your values.

When you know the things that you value it helps you identify the people, situations and things that don't support your values. It is the lack of fit that makes you feel uncomfortable. When it happens, try and understand which of your values are being threatened.

Clarifying what really matters to you or what you stand for, sets you free to live your life to its fullest potential. This sounds obvious, but many of us go through life without taking time to consider what stops us living our values.

Making life choices in the light of your values can greatly enhance your life chances, simply because you are doing what makes you feel good.

Negative emotions result from your values being threatened. This reaction helps you identify the people, situations and things you want in your life. It puts you in charge.

Being your true self brings an inner peace that allows you to engage others and difficult situations with confidence. You start responding and stop reacting.

When your goals are in harmony with your values, the natural energy that's generated allows you to act, seemingly without effort. Let go of the goals that you feel you should want.

The behaviour that is least acceptable to you is that which violates you values. Be clear about what is and is not acceptable to you.

'Instead of banging
your head against the
wall of hard reality,
Invest your efforts
into changing what
you can - like your
attitude and your
approach. It takes
more energy to hold
on to beliefs and
habits than it does to
embrace new ones"
