The Chakras
The
chakras represent levels of psychic power and intelligence
that extend around the body, and connect
us with other spiritual bodies and souls. |
|
Their
natural energy enables us
to grow, heal and change ourselves.

According
to the spiritual systems of the East, the chakras ascend in
a line from the first chakra at the base of the spine, through
to the seventh chakra just above the crown of the head. The
idea that humans have souls that continue after the death
of the body is very ancient. Does that make it primitive thinking
or does it offer fundamental insights into the human cindition
that has lasted 100,000 years ?
A
chakra is a circle of spiritual energy and intelligence that
is perceived to be in constant motion. Some believe there
is an eighth chakra that connects us with cosmic intelligence.
Caroline Myss refers to this chakra as the Archetypal Dimension.
See Spiritual
Archetypes. A full explanation of the seven
chakras can be found in Caroline's book 'Anatomy of Spirit'.

chakra forms the basis of her most recent book 'Sacred Contracts'.

What can these Chakras teach us ?
The
chakras are believed to be the source of our personal energy
and power in the world. It is easy to lose sight of this fundamental
truth until the material dimensions of our life let's us down.
Then we start to look for answers. the chakras reflect a deep
understanding of human nature that has remained unchanged
fo ten's of thousand's of years.
Chakras
1, 2 and 3 allow us to see the important issues of life that
come from the outside-in
- sources of external power over which we have no direct control..
Such as the family and community we are born into, the strength
of the relationships we have with others and the strengths
we are perceived to have by others - our personal identities,
personalities and reputations. In
the workplace community the outside-in forces are created
by your customers and service partners. If you do not feel
'at home' in the workplace, you have the problem - go and
find a new 'tribe' where you can feel a sense of belonging.
Knowing if it is the right place for you
requires you to know yourself from the inside-out.
Chakras
4, 5, 6 and 7 allow us to connect with the important issues
of life that come from the inside-out
- sources of internal power. They are not determined by what
happens outside ourselves as we can take control of them if
we choose to. Misdirecting these powers can have devastating
effects on our health and our relationships with others. They
are our personal challenges and determine how comfortable
we will feel living in our own bodies. In
the workplace community the inside-out forces influence our
effectiveness as leaders and followers of others. They
determine how we see ourselves and how we treat others. They
influence how we feel, the wisdom of our choices and our need
to serve a bigger purpose.
What are the messages for change ?
The
spiritual dimension of our lives does not appear to be distant,
mystical or complex. Some underlying 'rules' suggest themselves,
which we would do well to pay attention to:
All circumstances can be changed in a moment. Our imagination
or perspective on life is not limited to human time space
or physical conditions. We choose what we see, do, feel and
think.
Change
is constant. Every person experiences traumatic and peaceful
change. We must learn to go with the flow of change - it's
natural.
Never
look to others to make change easier for you. You must deal
with it yourself. It's about your capability, your responsibility
and your emotional and spiritual maturity.
Life
is a learning experience. Nobody can make you learn - that's
your decision - you have free will. But when you are spiritually
aware, you realise that every situation, challenge and relationship
has something to teach you. You just have to be willing to
learn and change to make your life better.
Positive
energy works more effectively than negative energy in each
and every situation. Change is about allowing your authentic
self or spirit to dominate the mental, physical and emotional
burdens created by your mind.
You can only live your life in the present moment, so change
too has to happen now if it is to happen. Tomorrow never comes..
