Your
sense of identity and belonging
Getting connected
To connect with the inner state of still
energy is the role of your first chakra, to focus attention
on something that triggers an emotional response associated
with pride in your family, your country or your social group. This
chakra is located at the base of your spine. Sitting on the
ground connects you to the physical world where you feel secure,
grounded, centred, focused and a sense of belonging.
Main Features
This is the 'base chakra', the foundation
of your emotional and mental health. It gives logic, order
and structure to your life. Only when you have a secure base
where you basic needs are met and know where you are accepted,
can you launch yourself into the unknown that is your life's
journey.
Symbolic
Issues
We gain considerable spiritual energy from a group with which
we share a bond. This is the essence of the bottom-up
dimension of change. Unless your work group feels
valued and secure it will not question itself or be ready
to emrace the unknown. We talk about the need for team building,
but such initiatives fail to access the natural power to be
found in people who are there for each other, noy just themselves.
